FAQ's

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Water hose, sewer hose, toilet chemicals, 2 rolls of toilet paper, rubber gloves, spare fuses, initial propane fill, garbage can, broom, dust pan, dish soap, all purpose cleaner.

Cleaning of Vehicles

All rental units must be clean inside when returned. This includes kitchen, bathroom and living areas, a charge of $100 for cleaning will be applied for those vehicles returned in an unsatisfactory state.

Tanks Dumped: - Holding tanks requiring dumping by Sunshine Coast RV Rentals staff will result in a $50 service charge

Pets (Dogs only)
On request only, a charge of $100.00  will apply. Any damage caused by pets will be charged to the renter.

Smoking
Smoking is not allowed in any of our RVs. Sunshine Coast RV Rentals reserves the right to charge an additional cleaning fee of $250.00 if a vehicle returns smelling of smoke of any kind.

DELIVERED TRAILERS

No deliveries/pickups on Sundays or Holidays

Sunshine Coast RV Rentals maintains liability coverage on all their rental trailers to a maximum of $5,000,000 for any bodily injury and property damage liability claims arising from the operation or use of it’s rental vehicles. Premiums for this basic public liability coverage are included in all rental rates, which also includes premiums for collision insurance and comprehensive insurance with a deductible of $2,000 per occurrence. In the event of loss or damage to vehicle while on rental, whether or not due to the fault of the rental customer, the customer’s responsibility for direct and accidental loss or damage is limited to a maximum of $2,000 per occurrence. There is no limit however if the rental trailer incurs loss or damage not covered by insurance as outlined in Terms and Conditions. 

License Requirements

For all drivers, a national driver's license  is required (original license, no copies).  For translation purposes, customers with a driver's license in a non-Roman alphabet will be required to obtain an international diver's license to present at pick-up along with their national driver's license.  A valid driver`s license for at least one year prior to renting is required for all drivers. Please note that this does not include time spent driving with an N (New) or L (Learner) license.

SELF TOW TRAILERS

Self-Tow Trailers for BC Residents Only: Self towed trailers require an ICBC RoadStar Package or Rental Vehicle Policy APV281L. 

All self-towed units require a suitable tow vehicle, hitch, wiring and a 7 pin brake controller. The tow vehicle must also be suitable to handle the weight of the trailer requested. Please ensure your equipment is working in advance of pickup

The minimum coverage is as follows: Collision and Comprehension - Maximum $500 Deductible, $2,000,000. Liability Coverage on the towing vehicle and - $1,000,000. on the rental trailer.

Voided Insurance

When damage to a unit is the result of negligent or careless behavior, Basic Insurance is  considered void (including third party coverage), and the renter is responsible for 100% of repair or replacement costs to their travel trailer, for rental loss, and for all costs claimed in regards to a third party property that may have been damaged because of the renter`s/driver`s  negligent behavior.

EXAMPLES OF NEGLIGENT OR CARELESS BEHAVIOR:

Hit and Run by renter or additional drivers

Roof damage caused by careless handling of unit (includes ignoring height restrictions)

Undercarriage damage caused by careless handling of a unit (includes damage caused by travel on gravel or unpaved roads, damage caused by bottoming out when going too fast over speed bumps, and damage caused by travel on ramps/driveways/roads that are on too steep of an incline to accommodate a trailer)

Negligent behaviour resulting in damage to unit (includes driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, traffic violations (running red lights, excessive speed, distracted driving, etc.), travel in restricted areas, towing of any kind behind the travel trailer, deliberate damage to unit, driving without a valid driver's license, and backing up the trailer without a second person outside of vehicle to guide driver)

Careless behaviour resulting in damage to unit (includes freezing of the vehicle's water system in temperatures below zero)

Operation of vehicle towing the travel trailer by anyone under 21 years of age and/or not listed on Rental Agreement

Damage occurring in accident that renter  has failed to report to Sunshine Coast RV Rentals and police within 24 hours

 Sunshine Coast RV Rentals reserves the right to charge the renters credit card for any lost or damaged rental equipment in addition to the rental fee of the specific item.  

SECURITY DEPOSIT & RENTAL PAYMENT

A security deposit is required before departure in the amount equal to the value of the deductible. The amount is to be pre-authorized on a major credit card.

The rental payment in full is required  prior to departure.

INSURANCE

Sunshine Coast RV Rentals maintains liability coverage on all its rental vehicles to a maximum of $5,000,000.00 for any bodily injury and property damage liability claims arising from the operation or use of its rental vehicles, provided all safety instructions as recommended by Sunshine Coast RV Rentals have been followed. Premiums for this Basic public liability coverage are included in all rental rates, which also include premiums for collision insurance and comprehensive insurance.

Please review Terms and Conditions applicable to Rental Agreement. Collision Deductible Reduction and Collision Deductible Waiver agreements are available and subject to the express terms of this rental contract and are null and void if any of the terms of the rental agreement are breached.

 

CANCELLATION & FINAL PAYMENT

Full refund within 24 hours of booking.

The initial $500 deposit is non-refundable after the 24 hour reservation/booking period.

Final payment is due prior to departure

Violation to the Rental Agreement

If there is violation to the Rental Agreement, the renter is responsible for any and all loss of or damage to the travel trailer from any cause (regardless of fault), and all related costs (loss of unit rental income included).

The Rental Agreement is governed by the law in force in the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
